ICC United Kingdom is holding its second annual conference on anti-corruption entitled Best Practices in Fighting Bribery and Corruption – The Bribery Act 2010 on 15 February 2011. Mark Rainsford QC has been invited to speak.
The ICC has for many years been active in fighting corruption and bribery.
ICC was the first international business organisation to develop rules to combat extortion and bribery and our activities include the development of guidance for companies to deal with extortion as well as advocacy in support of the OECD Convention and the UN Convention against Corruption.
They have actively been presenting the views of international business on the evolution of the Bribery Act.
The conference will be held on February 15th 2011, featuring approximately 10 speakers drawn from government, regulators, and business.
The programme will review issues such as:
- The SFO’s approach to enforcement and self-referral
- Due diligence, third parties, and supply chain
- Gifts and hospitality
The audience is expected to comprise of senior managers in plc and international business, as well as other advisers.
Mark will speak on the topic of ‘comparing the Bribery Act and other national anti-corruption regimes’, in light of his expertise on corporate wrong doing and corruption.
