Mutual Legal Assistance in British-Polish Asset Recovery

Fiona Jackson spoke in Warsaw today to an audience of members of the Warsaw Bar Association and Polish Bar Association, international embassies’ staff and other legal professionals on Mutual Legal Assistance in British-Polish Asset Recovery.  Covering issues of domestic and international criminal and civil asset recovery, mutual legal assistance and mutual recognition of restraint, freezing and confiscation orders, Fiona focused also on present barriers to successful mutual co-operation in an effort to strengthen the ties between the two jurisdictions.

The workshop was organised as part of a Bar Council mission addressing current bilateral issues in Family Law and Criminal Law, underscoring the importance which the Bar Associations of both jurisdictions place on the rule of law.
