NHS Fraudster Prosecuted

Trevor Cosson, the former Head of Financial Accounting of two Primary CareTrusts, was sentenced in July 2014 for fraud and money laundering offences committed whilst employed within the NHS accounts department.

On 27th March 2015, a confiscation order was imposed by Blackfriars Crown Court, which is to be applied as compensation to the NHS.

The confiscation is the largest amount NHS Protect has been awarded under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.  Catherine Collins acted for the prosecution.
