Sam is responsible for leading and managing client relationships, recruitment, implementation of strategic business development and growth of chambers within chambers specialist practice areas, both domestically and internationally.

Sam works closely with the senior clerk and practice management team to deliver a high-level service to clients and members. He provides effective assistance and guidance to members within their respective practises, and encourages a more collaborative, modern, and ambitious approach to business development in chambers. 

He has been a barristers’ clerk for 20 years, and many of which has been spent as a senior clerk. Sam also spent some time during that period as Managing Director at the International Arbitration Centre where he assisted in the creation and development of a specialist ADR offering. He has a solid understanding and knowledge of the international and commercial markets, having dealt with large international disputes and clients throughout UK and Europe, US, Latin America and Caribbean, Asia Pacific, and Middle East.

He has a proven track record of developing new business and building strong relationships, whilst maintaining a high standard of service delivery for both members and clients. His wider experience spans many years in commercial, common, public law and private client sets. Sam has also been responsible for changing respective chambers operations, direction, and reputation but also instrumental in opening international offices and presence in other jurisdictions including Washington DC and Zurich.

He has a particular focus and knowledge of the Middle East where chambers has experience of disputes in region, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar.

Sam takes pride in excellence and client service, combined with an understanding of their needs. He keeps in regular contact with new and existing clients to ensure the same high standard of service is maintained but also improved. He also keeps a close eye on the legal market to ensure the set, services provided, and its members continue to adapt, and meet the ever changing needs and demands of the legal industry, and its clients.

Sam is a member of the Institute of Barristers Clerks and in 2019 was awarded the ILM Level 3 Diploma in Leadership and Management.

Martin Adams

Senior Clerk

Martin is responsible for leading Chambers’ financial and operational management. Martin works with Sam and the Chambers’ Management Committee to provide effective leadership to ensure that excellent levels of client service are delivered. As Senior Clerk, Martin is responsible for the overall supervision of the clerking team.

Martin worked for a London branch of the CPS before joining what is now their Proceeds of Crime Unit. Having worked for several years instructing Counsel, he moved to Furnival Chambers as their Asset Forfeiture Practice Manager before teaming up with the founder members and setting up the Chambers at 33 Chancery Lane.

Chris Chiles

Deputy Senior Clerk

Chris joined 33 Chancery Lane as Deputy Practice Director in 2012, having gained many years’ experience, originally at a top Family set in Oxford followed by a leading Chancery set in Lincoln's Inn.

Prior to his career as a clerk, Chris worked as Sales Director for a nationwide IT firm.

Morgon Green

Morgon joined 33 Chancery Lane as a Practice Manager in 2024, having spent several years at leading commercial/insolvency Chambers in Temple and Lincoln’s Inn. Morgon also spent several years sitting on the IBC CDC committee, learning the Russian language and being a mentor for Durham University assisting aspiring students wanting to come to the bar.
