33 Chancery Lane case shortlisted for 'Most Important Court Case of the Year'
The case of SFO v Jeffery Cook and John Mason has been nominated as one of 4 cases to be considered for the annual GIR Awards. The winner will be announced at the Washington DC event on 14th November.
Graham Brodie KC and Faisal Osman were instructed by Stewart Hey, Patrick Gearon, Caroline Greenwell and Abigail Rushton of Charles Russell Speechlys to defend John Mason in criminal proceedings brought by the Serious Fraud Office.
Mr Mason was alleged to have made corrupt payments to senior figures in the Saudi Arabian National Guard (“the SANG”) for the purpose of securing contracts for a subsidiary of Airbus for the provision of military telecommunications equipment to the SANG.
Following a jury trial which concluded on 6 March 2024, Mr Mason was acquitted.
