Corporate Criminal Liability: Options for reform - Webinar 20th July

The Law Commission is seeking views on whether, and how, the law relating to corporate criminal liability can be improved so that it appropriately captures and punishes criminal offences committed by corporations, and their directors or senior management.

33 Chancery Lane and Kingsley Napley are hosting the final seminar in a series of events to discuss some of the most pressing concerns regarding the law of corporate criminal liability, and options for reform.

This session will touch on certain other options for reform of corporate criminal liability – such as the annual slavery and human trafficking statements required under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 – and offer some overall thoughts and conclusions based on the discussions to date which have covered:

Reform of the identification principle;
Deferred prosecution agreements;
The failure to prevent model, and;
Whether wider corporate criminality should be a matter for the civil courts.

There will be a Q&A section before the close and audience participation is welcome.
