Barry Stancombe advised successful Trustees in Bankruptcy of James Stunt
Adrian Hyde and Ian Defty, as TIBs of James Stunt, successfully claimed beneficial ownership of the valuable painting “The Double Portrait of the Cheeke Sisters” (estimated to be worth £4m) in a recent High Court Judgment. The Court ruled on the balance of probability that James Stunt was the “contracting buyer” of the painting and did not hold it on trust for his father. Barry Stancombe advised the TIBs on the POCA aspect of the case.
